Dear parents,
1. Practice paper 2
5E has just finished a class practice for Paper 2 (Booklet A
& B). Some areas for improvement students need to work on:
- Thorough checking would mean no leaving of blanks, checking of tenses and spelling
- Check the number of questions on the booklet with the OAS paper that was shaded
Although there is no CA1 for English, we will have a mock
paper in week 9. Please revise the notes for reported speech and words we have
gone through during spelling tests.
3. Spelling & Dictation
Spelling and (unseen) dictation will take place on alternate
weeks. As 5E has Chinese spelling on Wednesdays, they will now have English
spelling on Tuesdays. The upcoming one is next Tuesday, 21 Feb. Students were
informed two weeks ago.
4. Oral E-learning – Reading aloud Practice
Oral e-learning is uploaded on Google Classroom every
Tuesday. Students are to practise on their own. They should check for pronunciation
of consonants and word-stress patterns. Once they are done, please click ‘mark
as done’ so I know that they have practised. Please refrain from
commenting unnecessary remarks on the Google Classroom wall unless students
have issues or queries.
5. Re-corrections
Students will stay during recess to complete any outstanding
re-corrections. They may stay after school to consult me if necessary.
